Black Flag is $30 rn. Basically I would buy the gold edition of all the games in the triple pack for $50 each or I would just get the triple pack and buy the season passes. All you get is Freedom Cry with the season pass of Black Flag? And some multiplayer packs, so you're not missing out on much.

Black Flag was unusually popular because a large part of it wasn't an Assassin's Creed game, but rather a naval piracy simulator, which was a genre that was pretty much untapped among AAA blockbuster releases so it was much fresher and more interesting than the tired old AC formula that's never really surpassed AC2.
